Rise before sunrise for a prompt hotel pickup, venturing out of Cusco as the city’s lights fade behind you. Your journey by bus winds through picturesque Andean landscapes to the highland village of Tinki (3,900m), where a hearty breakfast at a local restaurant fuels your adventure.

Arrive in Pacchanta – Gateway to the Andes

After breakfast, continue by bus for another 3.5 hours to the remote community of Pacchanta (4,300m). Feel anticipation build as snowcapped peaks loom closer and villagers greet you with warm smiles.

Hiking Through the Seven Lagoons (Begin Trek)

Lace up your boots and set out on an exhilarating 4-hour hike, following trails bordered by wildflowers and grazing alpacas. Wander past the shimmering Jampa Lagoon (4,500m) and witness the crystal-clear waters of the fabled Seven Lagoons, their mirror-like surfaces reflecting the grandeur of Ausangate’s peaks.

Jampa Pass Challenge & Picnic Lunch

Push towards the Jampa Pass (4,600m), where thin air and otherworldly views reward your effort. Pause to descend for 30 minutes and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking panoramas.

Afternoon Trek to Sorapata Camp

With renewed energy, hike another 2.5 hours to Sorapata, your campsite nestled at 4,600m. Take in sights of local high Andean families tending their herds and the ever-present, sweeping vistas.

A Day Amongst Peaks and Lagoons

Today, you’ll hike approximately 7 hours and experience the magic of the Andean wilderness, with unforgettable encounters with nature and local culture.

Begin your morning climb to Palomani Pass, soaring to a breathtaking 5000 meters—this is the trek’s highest and most exhilarating point. Marvel at sweeping Andean vistas and snap photos atop the clouds.

Descending to Lunch Paradise

Start a gradual descent, soaking in panoramic mountain beauty and spotting unique flora and fauna along the way. Lunch awaits after a thrilling morning—relax and recharge amid peaceful scenery.

Final Stretch to Ausangate Qocha Lagoon

Continue hiking for about two hours after lunch, traversing rolling Andean hills before arriving at your enchanting campsite beside the shimmering Ausangate Qocha Lagoon (4300m). Witness local wildlife and unspoiled nature as you unwind after a rewarding day.

After a hearty breakfast, we begin our day with a moderate two-hour ascent to the breathtaking Ausangate Qocha Pass (4,500m). Surrounded by soaring peaks, the climb rewards us with sweeping vistas of the Andean landscape—each step filled with exhilarating mountain air.

Discovering the Lagoons – Puca Qocha, Qomer Qocha, and Azul Qocha

Descending from the pass, our adventure continues as we traverse spectacular terrain, encountering the enchanting turquoise waters of Puca Qocha, Qomer Qocha, and Azul Qocha. Each lagoon, set against the dramatic backdrop of Ausangate, invites you to pause, capture photos, and marvel at nature’s artistry.

Lunch Beside Ananta Qocha

By midday, we arrive at the serene shores of Ananta Qocha (4,300m) for a well-earned lunch. Enjoy a nourishing meal surrounded by wild alpine beauty—fueling up for the afternoon’s adventure.

Warmi Sayana Pass

Post-lunch, we tackle a one-hour climb to the Warmi Sayana Pass (4,700m). With each upward pulse, the panoramic views grow even grander—Ausangate’s snow-clad peak never far from sight.

Camp at Surini Qocha

The day’s final stretch leads us to our camp at Surini Qocha (4,600m), where you can relax and reflect after approximately eight rewarding hours of hiking. As evening settles over the high Andes, you’ll be surrounded by peaceful lagoons and majestic mountain silence.

Descent Through Andean Wilderness

Begin your two-hour descent, wandering through lush valleys and spotting local flora and unique Andean wildlife, all against a backdrop of dramatic highland scenery.

Return to Cusco
