Day 2

place HANOI CITY TOUR

Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to Ba Dinh Square – the biggest square in Hanoi where all the biggest cultural, political events of the cities, especially demonstrations, take place. Start our visit at the Complex of Ho Chi Minh including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Mondays, Fridays and 3 months annually for restoration), Ho Chi Minh’s house-on-stilts, his fish pond and the One-Pillar Pagoda. Then, visit the Temple of Literature which is considered as the first university of Vietnam. Continue the trip to picturesque West lake to visit Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi built from 6th century. Afternoon, we drive to visit the Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays), one of the largest museums in Vietnam with 2 exhibition areas – inside and outside. Visiting this Museum will bring you the knowledge about the Ethnic groups in Vietnam and their cultures. Late afternoon, we have an overall view of the capital by a “cyclo” visit, which will start around the Old Quarter of Hanoi, stop to visit Ngoc Son temple located on the Hoan Kiem lake (the “Sword” Lake). From here, we wander on the narrow streets of the Old Quarter to experience the daily life of the local people. Evening highlight will be the Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.

place HANOI – PULUONG - VILLAGE LIFE AND THE COMMUNITY

Breakfast at hotel and check out. Morning, drive to Pu Luong (5 hours driving). You enter Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breath taking mountain pass giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley. You arrive at your accommodation in time for a delicious lunch, followed by free time to explore the beautiful retreat, with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting. Afternoon, you have the chance to get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills above the Retreat. Glimpse at daily life, walk around working farmland and rice fields, and get to know more about the local culture. Walk back the retreat for nice dinner. Overnight in Pu Luong.

Day 4

place PU LUONG – UOI – LAN VILLAGES – NINH BINH

After breakfast, take a common and easy walk around the most beautiful valley of rice terraces in front of the Retreat. We start to descend into the beautiful valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Then we will walk through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque Uoi village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still when you see the panorama view of the village from above. Continue walk down hill to a local home, where you can take rest then take a cycle to go cycling around Lan village. If time permits, we will visit a local family where we can learn about their traditional brocade weaving (not guaranteed). Cycling through the rice paddies and another village to explore more the landscape surround. Ride back to the local home, where the car pick-up point. You will be transferred back to Pu Luong retreat for lunch. Afternoon, check out the lodge and we drive to Ninh Binh, the site of the one capital city of ancient Vietnam before Hanoi took its leading role in 11th century. Check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

place NINH BINH – HOA LU & TAM COC – BICH DONG – CYCLING – NINH BINH

After breakfast, we start discovering the beauty of Ninh Binh, the site of the one capital city of ancient Vietnam before Hanoi took its leading role in 11th century. The area is featured by lots of well-known sceneries, which include Tam Coc Caves and Hoa Lu ancient capital with the old temples dedicated to King Dinh & King Le reigned in 10th century. The visit in Ninh Binh starts by a boat trip in Tam Coc where spectacular limestone karsts jut out from the green paddy fields reminding about Guilin (China) and Halong Bay of Vietnam, which gives this scenery the name “Halong-bay-on-land”. Afternoon, we visit Hoa Lu, the site that used to be the kings’ palace in 10th century and now famous for the wooden relieves of the shady Dinh and Le temples. Leisurely cycling on country road around village and visiting Bich Dong pagoda. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

place NINH BINH – HALONG BAY/ LAN HA BAY – OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE

Breakfast at hotel and check out. Morning, we will drive for about 3 – 4 hours from Ninh Binh to Halong, one of the earliest World Heritages Sited designated by UNESCO for Vietnam in 1994. Note: the drive will take 3 hours from Ninh Binh to Hai Phong (Lan Ha Bay). Upon arrival in Halong, check in the overnight cruise to discover the magnificent beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay, created by thousands odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After a lunch on board, we can visit the Grottos, stop for swimming or kayaking, passing floating houses and approach islets to enjoy their beauty in close distance. Back to the cruise, enjoy cooking demonstration before having dinner. Evening attend activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure. Overnight on the cruise. Please note: the program may vary depending on the cruise you choose. You will have station English speaking guide on board.

place HALONG BAY/ LAN HA BAY – HANOI – EVENING FLIGHT TO DA NANG – HOIAN

You should wake up early to enjoy the dawn on the sea in the early morning. The Vietnamese calls the "East Sea" by a point-oriented name "Eastern Sea", so you may guess how miraculous seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay. After breakfast, our boat will continue to cruise in marvelous areas, where almost each islet has its own name, adopting its shape or reminiscent like Sail Island, Fisherman’s head rock, Butterfly rock or Turtle islet etc. Check out your room and have brunch on board while the cruise comes back the pier. Disembark from the cruise, our driver and tour guide will transfer you back to Hanoi from Halong via the old road (3.5 – 4 hours driving) or via the expressway from Hai Phong (2 hours driving), heading to the airport for the flight to Danang. Upon your arrival, welcomed by our guide and transferred you to Hoian ancient town for check in. Overnight in Hoian.

place HOIAN – TRA QUE VILLAGE WITH COOKING CLASS BY BICYCLE – HOIAN CITY TOUR

Breakfast at hotel. Our guide welcomes you at your hotel and starts to make a bicycle trip to the countryside of Hoian Town. Riding on bike you can see the tranquil atmosphere of the countryside of Vietnam. Arrive at Tra Que Organic village, you have a walk through and visit the garden where local farmers work on their farm and use the traditional methods without having electrical machines support. Next, you are under the instruction of household; he will show you how to prepare and make the land, you fertilize green manure before growing vegetables. Watering the vegetables, which you have just grown, is the last activity in the procedure of planting them. After that, you pick fresh saw-tooth coriander and Vietnamese mint for your cooking lesson later. You have about 20 minutes to relax by soaking your feet in Vietnamese herbs. This is one of the ways to refresh yourself after the hard time in garden. Then you can join with the family chef and learn the traditional ways in preparing and cooking local Vietnamese dishes. Have your lunch with the family after class. Afternoon, visit the Hoian ancient town of Hoian including the tile-roofed Japanese Bridge, taciturn Chinese Assembly Halls and Trading Houses, Pagodas, and the market located by Thu Bon river. Go shopping in Hoian famous handicraft shops. Overnight in Hoian.

place HOI AN – TRANSFER TO HUE – CITY TOUR

Breakfast at hotel and check out. Today we will depart from Hoian to Hue. We will pass over the beautiful Hai Van Pass -Vietnam's geographical and psychological boundary between north and south. The peak of the pass lies perpetually shrouded in clouds. Being recognized by UNESCO as the 1st Cultural World Heritage for Vietnam, Hue is highlighted by the old royal architectural works and the most traditional Vietnamese lifestyle. Discover the charm of the city from Tu Duc King Mausoleum - romance, lyrical reflects the life of the king of talented but situation in the country intricate. Afternoon, we will visit the Royal Citadel, Forbidden City, Hue Royal Museum. Go on having a boat trip on Perfume river to visit Thien Mu pagoda, the iconic of Hue city. Overnight in Hue.

Day 10

place HUE – MORNING FLIGHT TO SAIGON – CITY TOUR

Breakfast at hotel and check out. Transfer to the airport for flight to Saigon (now known as Ho Chi Minh City) – the most hectic and business city of Vietnam. Upon arrival at the airport, welcomed by the local tour guide and transfer to the city center to check in hotel. Afternoon, we start the city tour at the Reunification Palace, the witness of the fierce Vietnam War ended in 1975. The grand building today is a Museum and Hall of official receptions. Nearby the Palace are the colonial-styled Central Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral (outside due to construction), built between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city’s major landmarks. Have a walking tour on Nguyen Hue street to take the photos of the Opera House and the Ho Chi Minh Committee (outside). From here, walk to Ben Thanh market, one of the most typical symbol of Saigon to experience the daily life of the locals and do shopping the hand-made goods there. Overnight in Saigon.

place SAIGON – CAO DAI – CU CHI TUNNELS – SAIGON

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, visit the Great Holy Sight temple, built in 1926, is considered one of the striking structures of South-East Asia. It is the headquarters of the unique Cao Dai sect, a religion with a hybrid of Buddhism, Christianity & Confucianism. Above the entrance is the all-seeing holy eye – symbol of the sect. Visitors will attend the midday ceremony’s extravaganza to witness the daily mass held by the Cao Dai followers, which is a fantastic experience. Afternoon, drive to Cu Chi tunnels, one of the few remaining monuments to the Vietnam War. Beneath the ground lie 200 km of tunnels, dug by hand and inhabited by the forces of the Vietnamese guerillas during the conflict. At its peak, prior to the Tet Offensive in 1968, the tunnel complex was base to almost 10,000 troops. To this day, it remains one of the most impressive examples of how fierce the war used to be. You even can try to crawl some dozens of m on the tunnel underground to have the real experience. Overnight in Saigon.

Breakfast at hotel and check out. Depart for the 2.5 hours drive to Cai Be, deep in the Mekong Delta. The Journey begins with a wooden boat trip; proceed to evergreen islands among the Mekong River through a large network of meandering tributaries, crisscrossed with countless arroyos. Then cruise to Vinh Long to discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life. At the end of the afternoon, move to Can Tho. Free for night discovery in Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.

A short stop to visit rice husking mill and cycling around the village to observe the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals. Disembark at Ninh Kieu and transfer back to Ho Chi Minh. On the way, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which is one of Vietnamese popular destinations. Check in hotel and time at leisure. Overnight in Saigon.
