Welcome to Santiago!
Chile has many adventures to offer tourists: stargazing in the driest desert in the world, millennial glaciers in the southernmost part of the planet, enchanted forests, and lakes located at the foot of massive volcanoes. It has islands full of legends, winemaking traditions, great challenges to be overcome, and the modern and accessible city of Santiago. A private transfer will pick you up from Santiago Airport to take you to your selected Hotel. Viña Vik is located in the Millahue Valley, in San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, 160 kilometers south of Santiago. It is characterized for being an extraordinary architectural project in the middle of the vineyards where nature is mixed with art and design. This became the new adventure of the Norwegian businessman Alexander Vik, who sought a place between Chile and Argentina to produce the best wine in the world. This is how he came to our country to fulfill his dream that included not only a vineyard, but also an avant-garde style hotel to receive art-loving tourists. The hotel's architecture was in charge of Marcelo Daglio and it stands out for its corrugated titanium roof that shines at certain times of the day. This symbolizes the name of the Millahue Valley, which in Mapudungún means "land of gold".

A couple of kilometers outside of San Pedro de Atacama, between the jagged rocks and unusual shapes of the Cordillera de la Sal (Salt Mountains), we find the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), a geological wonder of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. During the tour, you can take in the extraordinary shapes of the landscape, which will make you feel as if you were walking on the moon. Discover the magic nuances of the desert by visiting the Toconao village, the great Atacama Salt Flat with its Chaxa Lagoon, the impressive mountain lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques in Los Flamencos Natural Reserve. The journey will begin with a visit to Lagoon Chaxa, a scenery of spectacular beauty that is divided into several water mirrors where numerous flamingos live and other birds such as large and small parinas. Then we head towards the Altiplano to reach the viewpoint of Red Stones, where you can see a volcanic conglomerate formed from the oxidation of the iron present in that place. Later we will visit Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons at more than 4,200 meters over sea level. Surrounded by imposing volcanoes caused by the elevation of the Andes mountain chain, a habitat of a variety of birds, are a truly amazing destination. Finally, before returning, while the landscape gives us breathtaking views of the Licancabur and Lascar volcanoes. Finishing in the Town of Toconao, built with volcanic stone, it stands out for its heritage architecture, with the church of San Lucas, and its bell tower, declared a National Monument. Activities to be confirmed per guest request. Our recommendation for today: FD Tatio Geysers at Sunrise Feast your eyes on the Tatio Geysers, one of the world’s most impressive geothermal sites and certainly an icon of the Atacama Desert. We’ll set off early this morning to reach the Tatio Geysers just as the sun begins to emerge above the horizon, casting an ethereal glow on vapor columns which tower over us at heights of up to 12 meters. We’ll spend some time appreciating the wonder of this geothermal field, home to over 80 active geysers which protrude from bubbling pools of boiling water, then have breakfast with the geysers as our views. As we head home, we will often spot wildlife roaming outside, including Vicuñas, Foxes, Vizcachas and Andean Ostriches. We will stop at the picturesque, adobe village of Machuca. Home to no more than a dozen locals, Machuca is small, cultural site to behold with its church built from wood and handicraft stalls, a charming interlude before taking the return road to Tierra.
