Day 1

place Arrival in Madagascar

Upon arrival on Malagasy land, you are welcomed by our guide-driver. The exit of the airport offers an interesting first approach to the country and quickly the Malagasy atmosphere and the effervescence of the capital are felt.

Day 2

place Antananarivo to Antsirabe

This first step takes you to meet a structure of economic and social development managed and created by a couple of Malagasy in order to help the neediest: the tinsmithing of Dieudonné (crafts). Some tourist attractions are offered to you such as the stop in Ambatolampy, where you go to meet blacksmiths working aluminum as in the Middle Ages. You arrive in Antsirabe in the afternoon. Antsirabe means "where there is a lot of salt", where the baths are always accessible to the public.

Day 3

Antsirabe, a multifaceted city, is full of talented craftsmen that we invite you to meet: work on zebu horn, raffia, miniature bikes or handcrafted candy. Small link on the Rn7 to reach the capital of wood carving art in the afternoon. On this axis, you exchange with a craftsman who works in a wonderful way the wood he finds at random from his walks. Arrival in Ambositra in the afternoon.

place Sightseeing in Ambositra

The city of Ambositra and its surroundings deserve a visit as there are so many topics of conversation and discovery. Our local guide is your eyes and ears in order to make you have a pleasant time with a lunch offered at the inhabitant. You go to meet many craftsmen and peasants to exchange and share about their daily life and the history of these surroundings in Betsileo land. Ambositra, the capital of Malagasy art, also has markets and alleys open to walkers.

place Ambositra to Ranomafana

Visit a marquetry workshop in the morning where the various stages of this meticulous work are detailed to you. You take national road 7 early in the afternoon to reach the corridor forest of eastern Madagascar and the village of Ranomafana located in the heart of the national park of the same name.

place Ranomafana to Ambalavao

An early day proposed in Ranomafana National Park: 58 species of reptiles, 98 species of amphibians, 115 of the 257 species of birds of Madagascar.12 species of lemurs, 7 species of carnivorous mammals not to mention the many species of birds and a unique flora: this is the sight that Ranomafana National Park can offer you! Then you reach the city of Fianarantsoa, capital of Betsileo country, a city of passage before arriving in Ambalavao where you sleep and located in front of the granite walls of the Andringitra.

Day 7

place Ambalavao to Ranohira

The landscapes of the Malagasy deep south and the Andringitra massif are at the rendezvous on these first kilometers that lead you towards the plains of Ihorombe. But before that, a short walk in the Anja Community Reserve, a place of refuge for catta lemurs. The eastern foothills of the Isalo massif loom on the horizon as the town of Ranohira approaches in the afternoon, when, a few kilometers in the south, your charming hotel has established itself.

Day 8

place Ranohira Sightseeing

A day of hiking in the Isalo National Park so often dubbed "the Malagasy Colorado". It is a ruiniform massif of yellow sandstone where coexist, rock vegetation (Aloe, Euphorbes, Pachypodium ... ) and wildlife in large numbers (lemurs, chameleons, birds, and rock reptiles). Throughout this day the landscapes are varied: natural swimming pool, canyons, desert spaces. The time to return to the hotel takes into account the duration of your trekking.

Day 9

place Ranohira to Sarodrano

Enjoy the idyllic setting of your hotel in the morning before heading to the great desert plains located in the west of Isalo National Park. Before sighting the banks of the Mozambique Channel and the city of Ranohira, your first baobabs appear not far from Table Mountain. Then, 45 minutes of track in the middle of xerophilic vegetation and giant Pachypodium accompany you to the Eden Ecolodge residence located on the banks of the Mozambique Channel.

Day 10

place Sarodrano Sightseeing

Several excursions are possible including this one: hiking to reach the overlooking viewpoint of Sarodrano, the Mozambique channel and the mouth of the Onilahy River before sinking the village of St Augustin. Then canoe in the mangroves with observation of colonies of pink flamingos and marsh poultry fauna before reaching the rather unexpected picnic spot. At the end of the day, you come back to your vehicle in St Augustin and join your hotel.

place Sarodrano to Anakao

You will join the village of Anakao with a speedboat early in the morning due to tidal schedules and the coral reef. This small fishing village calls for contemplation and the activities are offered by your hotel. So, you choose the program that suits you most for the next few days: beach, swimming, visiting the village, visiting the islands by boat, snorkeling, visiting the national park of Tsimanampetsose, traditional sailing canoe or rest.
