place Tour Helsinki with an Expert

This tour is designed according to Finland’s sustainable tourism policies; we will be walking in the old and new parts of the city centre. We will discover Helsinki's secrets, learn its history, culture and traditions while getting a glimpse of the Finnish national character and values. We will find answers to the most cunning questions: Why are Finnish people the happiest people in the world? How did a Finnish architect influence a generation of American architects and skyscraper designs? Why do Helsinki people have picnic on top of graves? What was the meeting point of the bohemian people of 1880s in Helsinki? Where did Lenin hide when he was running away from the Tsarist Russia? What is ice-dipping? Which statue is the one that seagulls hate the most? How did they build a church inside a giant granite rock? Where can you eat the best salmon soup of your life? Why is the largest Orthodox cathedral located in a Lutheran country? Why Finnish people still cheer for the opponents of the Swedish sports teams? Where did they bury thousands of bodies during the 18th century plague? Why a short bridge in city centre is called “The Long Bridge”? Duration and distance 3 hours, 6-7 km. We will make coffee/tea stops on our route. Itinerary Below is a recommended itinerary for the tour, however, the route and attractions are going to be customized according to your groups’ wishes.
