The Gorilla Tracking Experience
You'll be up early and have your breakfast before 7:30. Pick up your pack at the lodge, and your driver will have you at the visitor centre, half a mile from the lodge, within 10 minutes. The warden will brief you about the excursion at the visitor centre and assign you and six other tourists a gorilla family, two armed rangers, and an expert guide. Make sure you carry a copy of your passport along; it's used to verify your trekking permit. You could spend about 30 minutes to five hours tracking the gorilla family in the woods. Once you find the great apes, you will spend an hour (or four hours for a habituation permit) watching, observing and photographing the giant apes. Your local tracker will be guiding you on how to interact with the gorillas while furnishing you with relevant information during your experience. After your encounter, your guide will lead you out of the jungle and find a favourable spot to have lunch.

Optional Activities Around Bwindi
Day five a lais·sez-faire afair. Take on some activities around the lodge, like canoeing, hiking, or walking through the local villages. Some guests chose to go for another adventure experience with the gorillas. A second gorilla trek is much more relaxed and will be experiential than the first one, where everything is unexpected and overwhelming. You can also walk in the Buniga pocket forest, where the aboriginal Batwa people showcase their old cultures on a one-to-two-hour trail. The forest is about a 10-minute walk from the lodge, and the Batwa guides guide it. Some chose to stay back at the lodge and immerse themselves in the hotel's ambience with expansive views of the entire Virunga Volcanos mountain chain and the wooded rugged rift valley landscape.
